قوات الاحتلال تقمع مسيرة المعصرة الاسبوعية بعد مداهمة ليلية لأعضاء اللجنة الشعبية في القرية
رغم الأحوال الجوية السيئة
قامت قوات الاحتلال فجر اليوم الجمعة بمداهمة منازل أعضاء اللجنة الشعبية لمقاومة الجدار وقامت بالعبث بمحتويات المنازل وتهديد المواطنين إذا ما شاركوا بالمسيرة فإنهم سيقومون باعتقالهم
ورغم كل هذه التهديدات بالاضافة إلى سوء الاحوال الجوية الاأن المواطنون لبوا دعوة اللجنة الشعبية وخرجوا في مسيرتهم الاسبوعية
ورفع المشاركون في المسيرة، الأعلام الفلسطينية والشعارات المنددة بسياسة الاحتلال الاستيطانية، المتمثلة بضم الحرم الإبراهيمي ومسجد بلال بن رباح إلى التراث الإسرائيلي ،
وعند وصول المتظاهرون إلى مدخل القرية قامت قوات الاحتلال بمطارتهم من بيت إلى بيت ومن شارع
إلى اخر مستخدمة الغاز والعيارات المطاطية
واستنكرت اللجنة الشعبية لمقاومة الجدار والاستيطان في قرية المعصرة ، قرار حكومة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بضم الحرم الإبراهيمي في الخليل، ومسجد بلال بن رباح في بيت لحم، إلى التراث الإسرائيلي وتطالب المجتمعين الدولي والإسلامي بحماية المقدسات الإسلامية والمسيحية في فلسطين

Ni’lin Wards Off IOF Invasion

Nearly 100 youth of Ni’lin were tear gassed and shot at with rubber-coated steel bullets as the IDF attempted to invade their village. Near the edge of the village, the soldiers scaled a house to attack the demonstrators from a heightened vantage point.
Undeterred by inclement weather, residents of Ni’lin attempted to reach the Apartheid Wall for their weekly demonstration. The rolling thunder accentuated their chants which demanded justice, the destruction of the wall that kept them from their crops and to be heard. However, the protest’s course was redirected after the Israeli soldiers brought two military jeeps and tried to enter the village.
IOF Invades Home in Ni'lin
The Palestinian protesters walked up to the gate of their village where they were met with volleys of tear gas. The demonstration retreated, and the Israeli forces moved forward, entering a Palestinian home, climbing onto the roof and firing down into the street. Other soldiers moved behind buildings to fire on the protesters from the side. At this point, the Palestinians built an improvised road blockade to stop the soldiers from advaninto their village. This was successful, and prevented the military from wreaking further havoc on villagers in their residences. This position was held for approximately two hours, after which residents returned home and soldiers moved out of the area.

Bil'in Village Demonstration

Palestinian, Israeli, and International activists demonstrated against the apartheid wall and settlements in Bil'in village west of Ramallah. Despite rain and harsh winds demonstrators marched to the wall and were immediately met with tear gas from the Israeli military as they are each week Friday. Soldiers fired heavy aluminum tear gas canisters into the crowd, and veteran activists commented on the extra strength of the gas today. People attempted to distribute "wanted signs" with the face of the local army commander to the soldiers positioned on the other side of the fence. Signs read:

Soldiers warned demonstrators not to come close to the gate that leads to the apartheid fence, and continued shooting gas into the crowd. They later entered the village and continued firing tear gas from a distance as people retreated back towards the village.
One the 11th of this month, residents of Bil'in received news that the path of the wall was finally being moved; giving almost half of the land slated for settlement development back the village. Residents have been crossing the fence to access their land for this years planting season. Farmers and their families are often harassed as they pass through the gate to the other side of the fence. Last week, two men were detained and held for two hours as they returned to the village from the other side of the wall. Repression against activists who take part in weekly demonstrations continues.

An Nabi Salah: Israeli Soldiers Surround Home

Approximately 50 Palestinians and 20 Israelis and Internationals gathered in the West Bank village of An Nabi Salih to protest the further appropriation of their land and natural spring by the illegal Israeli settlement of Hallamish. The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) used tear gas, sound bombs, and rubber-coated steel bullets to disperse the protesters. There was no obvious justification for aggression from the Israelis.
Hallamish, illegal under international law like all Israeli settlements, has expanded toward and is increasingly taking control of Palestinian lands. A small group of Palestinians gathered after Friday prayer to make a symbolic march toward these lands. Men, women and children marched away from An Nabi Salih and descended into a valley towards their fields. IOF soldiers began firing tear gas from the road below. The protesters spread out across the side of the mountain and the soldiers advanced, firing tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets. Several Palestinians and one International suffered injuries from the rubber bullets.
Soldiers surrounded a house on the edge of the village which contained women and children. After firing several tear gas canisters and a sound bomb in the doorway of the home, the soldiers proceeded to enter the village. Over thirty tear gas canisters were launched simultaneously from the top of a specialized IOF vehicle into the yards of villagers, as Palestinian youth resisted the invasion with stones. After Palestinians had returned to their homes, the army re-entered the village to fire a final round of tear gas on the peaceful town. The rubber-coated steel bullet injuries included head wounds on a young protester, and several dozen suffered tear gas inhalation.

Israeli military forces escalate intimidation and violence against popular committee

Police advance into the village of Al-Ma'sara today as village residents attempt to reach the future site of the separation wall. This comes on the heels of a night raid and threats to the popular committee.
This morning at 2AM, three Israeli jeeps entered the village of Al-Ma'sara south of Bethlehem. Officers forced popular committee member Mahamad Brijia from his home and held him outside as they searched, throwing personal belongings on the ground. The military threatened him and other popular committee members with arrest if they organize or attend demonstrations in the village.
As with every Friday since November 2006, village residents gathered before marching to the construction site for the separation wall in an attempt to reach land confiscated by the wall's construction. This week however, marked an escalation of violence in the attempt to intimidate and stop the popular resistance. As dozens of community members attempted to exit the village, the Israeli military closed the road and snipers positioned on roof tops opened fire with tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades.Village residents were chased by Israeli soldiers through the streets of Al-Ma'sara as they attempted to avoid the heavily armed military's advance.
Village residents and popular committee members assert their right to access traditional land under international law. They plan to continue demonstrations until full access to village land is granted and holy sites are respected. This week's demonstration occurred in solidarity with demonstrations across the west bank and internationally against Netanyahu's announcement of the inclusion Islamic holy sites as Jewish protected areas.

On 24 February 2010 Sheikh Jarrah witnessed a riot that resulted in the arrest of one Palestinian man, pepper spray of one Palestinian woman and her child and the injury of two Palestinian children.

Some 80 Jerusalem demonstrators marched through their city Friday, all dressed up in costumes and celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim, meeting up with 100 more demonstrators in the entrance to Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood for the weekly protest against house evictions. Activists sang, beat drums, jumped about and danced for nearly one and a half hours, fighting off the Jerusalem cold and whipping rain and hail. This week's demonstration was also joined by a mission of some of Britain's biggest Unions, who concluded a week long tour of the West Bank, concluding that their support for the international BDS campaign is vital. Opposite the demonstration the regular police forces blocked the main road of the neighborhood, but other than that seemed quite uninterested in the demonstration. At the end of the protest all went to their separate homes with no clashes or arrests of any kind

Children, Palestinian MPs and journalists were among those injured on Thursday during Israeli troops attack on the protests in Hebron city southern West Bank. Two Israeli supporters, one American were arrested by the Israeli boarder police forces during the crackdown on today's protests in Hebron. Israeli boarder police and soldiers used tear gas, sound bombs and rubber-coated steal bullets to suppress the protests in Hebron.
One of the protests was organized by a local group called Youth Against Settlements in order to open Al Shohada street in Hebron old city. Soldiers closed the street 10 years ago to stop Palestinians from passing near four illegal settlement outposts located there. Al Shohada connects the old city part with the rest of Hebron.
"Today's action is part of number of steps Youth Against Settlements will do in the old city. The action in Hebron was part of protests that took place today in 25 deferent countries in support of Al Shohada Street." Badiee Dweik, from Youth Against Settlements told IMEMC.
Meanwhile Israeli troops attack Palestinians along with Parliament members who conducted a prayer near the Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron old city to protest Israel’s decisions to enlist two holy sites in the West Bank under the so called Jewish Heritage National List.
Dr. Mustafa Al Barghouthi, a Palestinian MP was among those injured near the Ibrahimi Mosque today. "We were all subjected to this tear gas, but the demonstration was successful, and it showed how resilient Palestinians are in defending their right and demanding the natural thing which is freedom. Its not allowable to have apartheid in the 21st century." Al Barghouti told IMEMC.
Over the weekend Israel decided to enlist the Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron city and Bilal Mouque, in Bethlehem city, both in southern West Bank under the so called Jewish Heritage National List. Commenting on Israeli's decision, Palestinian MP Dr. Mustafa Al Barghouti added: "its is an act that violates international law, but it means what, it means that this Israeli government exactly at a time when some countries are trying to promote Palestinian Israeli negotiations, the Israeli government comes and do this provocation, … it means that this government do not want peace or the two state resolution."
The Ibrahimi Mosque, in Hebron, also known as the tomb of Patriarchs; as well as Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque, are believed to be holy sites by Muslims, Jews and Christians. Israeli Jewish settlers control the two sites and deny others access there.

The residents of Tel Aviv have nothing to fear, armed soldiers will not prevent their movement, and their "Shuhada Street" will not be closed for years. This is not so for the Palestinian residents of Hebron. This was one of 25 protests around the world, from Cape Town to Berlin to Sydney to New York, on this international day of action to call for re-opening Shuhada Street.

On 25th February,in concert with activists from all over the world, we gathered in London to tell people about the oppression of Palestinians in Hebron.
We joined the supporters of Al Haq who filed a claim for judicial review before the High Court of England and Wales challenging the government of the United Kingdom over its failure to fulfill its obligations under international law with respect to Israel's activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). We all met outside the Royal Courts in London. The Al Haq supporters had decorated the railings with Palestinian flags and banners saying Free Palestine and End the Siege of Gaza. We came with leaflets, sandwich boards and posters with pictures of the ghost town that is now Hebron.
People came from far and wide to support our call. A member of the Christian Peace maker team who had worked in Hebron came all the way from Hastings in the South Coast, supporters came from all four corners of London and decked out in their sandwich boards, which said 'Open Shuhada Street' and on the back 'End this brutal occupation', we leafleted passers by and used the opportunity to tell them exactly what was happening in the prison that is Hebron. A group of senior citizens were amazed to hear that people could not access their homes, except through their roofs, and took our leaflets to read more.
We were filmed by Al Arabiya Television and by freelance photographers. Abe Hayeem from Architects for Peace and Justice in Palestine, was interviewed by one station and we hope that the pictures and the interview will reach a large audience in the Middle East to show the world that the people of Hebron are not forgotten.
After the protest outside the court ended, we went to leaflet the London School of Economics (LSE) and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), where we were well received by all. One of our number is an activist in Kings College London and he took material to circulate to students there. In the evening leaflets were circulated at Essex University. I find that people usually throw leaflets away but our leaflets were closely scrutinized. The level of awareness of the discrimination and apartheid in Hebron is extremely limited. We hope that our protest opened some minds, even if the street still remains closed.
