Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights will held a press conference on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Center , att11.30 AM , to announce the launch of his book, " TAX JUSTICE IN EGYPT AS SEEN BY A TAXPAYER”
Speaking at the conference the great constitutional jurist, Dr. Ibrahim Darwish," submitted by the authors, "and economic researcher MR Reza Issa" editor of the book ", and Khaled Ali director of the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights.
Khaled ali say " In January 3rd 2010 the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights arranged a seminar on " new real estate tax …. Taxation policies and social rights of citizens," During the seminar speakers reviewed their vision not only to tax law on real estate and application of standards or even their criticism of the legal and constitutional basis on which he built, but the seminar included also spoke, Economic Research Reza Issa on tax policy and the extent of equity, which revealed a set of facts concerning the types of taxes that are imposed on the Egyptians ordinary people .. The surprise was when compared to the total amount collected from individuals with collections from the commercial and industrial companies the difference between them is the shock as you will see
This intervention led us to consider the issue of not real estate tax only, but also in terms of tax equity in society in general, and we agreed on the need to present a study to public opinion and decision makers in Egypt to reveal the reality of tax policy from the standpoint of the taxpayer, and that starts by the Egyptian Center for Human economic and social first publications in a series of social justice that series, which will try to place through engagement with the social and economic issues to try to identify policies and practices that are opposed to social justice.
Khaled say " We will review at the press conference a series of alarming facts that carried the study, for example:
- how come that Egyptian taxpayer bear almost same total tax rates as some EU countries,
Although there is no comparison between public services to offered to Egyptian citizens, and those received by his counterparts in the country (!!).
- Total tax rate borne by companies in Egypt compared to those endured by the workers and staff , and then comparing the total of these ratios in Egypt with what is happening in America, and South Africa and other countries (!!!).
- What are the reasons for exempting trading profits from taxes in the stock market!! ? .
- The developments of proceeds of taxes in Egypt in 2002 to 2009?

-Taxes borne by the consumer and citizen in sales taxes and customs duties and employment?
- What are the names of companies that did not examine the tax since Boutros-Ghali, took over the ministry of Finance?
